Saving Babies with a Healthy Start


For the CT DPH Infant Mortality Prevention Campaign, we designed new ad concepts to promote the New Haven Healthy Start Program and the Hartford Health Department to at-risk mothers. The ad concepts were applied to print and bus advertising targeting the young urban and African American communities in Hartford and New Haven during May and June.

The newsprint ads were placed in two urban weeklies, The Hartford Advocate and The New Haven Advocate, and four minority community papers, Inner City News, Inquiring News, Northend Agent and West Indian American. Bus advertising, consisting of 30 bus tails and 100 interior posters, were placed on routes in New Haven and Hartford with the creative concept featuring each city’s healthcare agency respectively. The summer bus ad campaign was repeated in Hartford and New Haven in the fall with 22 bus exteriors and
100 interior posters.
